In The Black Professional Services (itbpro) helps construction businesses recover what’s owed — and stay in the black.

We support consultants, subcontractors, main contractors, and employers, clients and developers with construction claims, dispute support and adjudication. That includes acting as party representative in adjudications, as well as preparing entitlement packs and sitting as panel adjudicator when nominated.

ME — Nick Kocinski

Nick Kocinski is Director of In The Black Professional Services. He is a construction claims consultant and adjudicator with over twenty years’ NEC experience in quantity surveying, project change management and commercial control — and long experience of JCT, FIDIC and ICE forms as well.

He works across civil, infrastructure, highways, commercial and residential construction in London and the surrounding areas, including airports. The last several years of his practice have been increasingly dispute-focused: claims preparation and defence, party representation in adjudication, and appointments as adjudicator.

Nick still keeps a foot on live projects — main contract and subcontract commercial, change control, clause 31 and 32 programmes, and getting entitlement and cashflow moving — so advice stays grounded in how projects actually run.

He holds a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and has completed the RICS Diploma in Construction Adjudication (including law study and exams) and the ICE Advanced Law & Contract Management / adjudicator pathway. He is FCIArb, FCInstCES and a member of QSi. He is a member of the Society of Construction Law and the Adjudication Society.
